Rural Work and Travel | Professional Internship | Aged Cared Program | Child Care Program

This program is designed for people that would like to work in Australia within the Aged Care field. The positions are located within ‘Aged Care facilities’ and ‘Nursing homes’ as well as Elderly persons’ homes. Some positions may also be available within public and private hospitals. Jobs available in the Aged Care field would involve some or all of the following duties:

* Providing support to an older person
* Provide personal care
* Provide care support specific to dementia
* Provide food services
* Provide physical assistance with medication
* Transport clients/patients
* Care for home environment of client
* Prepare and maintain beds
* Apply basic first aid
* Provide personal laundry service to clients
* Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain clean environment
* Perform general cleaning tasks in a clinical setting
* Handling waste in a health environment

Eligibility:
General criteria for acceptance are:

* Ability to perform required tasks physically
* 18 – 35 years of age
* Some related study and minimum one (1) year practical experience in the field
* Eligibility to apply for a suitable visa as advised
* Abide by the terms and conditions set for this program
* Adequate level of English. This equates IELTS score of 4.5 or an ‘intermediate’ level of conversational English. Applicants do not have to have completed the IELTS test or any other English test. The level of English will be assessed via an interview.

Program Duration:
Maximum length of the program is 12 months unless applicants are the holder of visa that allows applicants to work for longer.

Options you can do at the end of the OTV 12 months Period:
= You can apply for a further OTV (depending on a further training pathway
being available) OR

= You can return home with Australian experience/training OR

= If an Australian regional employer is willing to sponsor you - you may be able to apply for four (4) year 457 visa, or permanent residence.

Locations:
Jobs are located within Child Care facilities in most cities and regions in Australia.

Applicants must be flexible to work in any city/region in Australia. A large number of positions are located in regional parts of Australia and not in large cities.

Application Deadline:
Minimum of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of complete application documents. Applicants also need to allow a further 6 weeks for visa processing thus a total of 10 weeks from the time we receives full application documents and relevant deposits.

Salary:
Wages will depend on the position. Different jobs attract different wages. The minimum wages for Child Care workers is AU$528.10 per week (38 hours). Applicants may also receive additional payments for shift work and overtime.

Holiday/Sick Leave Benefits:
Most applicants will be employed on ‘full-time basis’. This means that the employee is generally entitled to payments for sick leave, holiday leave and public holidays. Some applicants however may be employed on a casual basis which would not normally entitle the applicant to holiday, sick leave and other leave. This will be advised to the applicant the time of confirmation of the job.
