New Zealand offers paid internships in the tourism and hospitality industry. All placements are in Queenstown, New Zealand’s premier tourist destination and adventure capital of the world.
New Zealand internships are ideal to start your working holiday or intern abroad, to include in your gap year experience or to complete the practical requirements of academic studies.
All placements are entry to mid-level positions with Queenstown tourism and hospitality operators. Your placement will match your employment and/or educational background.
Internship Information:
Internship begins with two-weeks training and induction, followed by a three-month paid work placement (placements maybe extended depends on visa conditions.) Most interns will be paid the equivalent of the industry standard position (approximately NZ $9.50 - $ 13 per hour). Most interns will be expected to work 30 - 40 per week.
Training topics:
New Zealand and local history, custom and culture, local geography and location tour an introduction to Queenstown's tourism and hospitality industries and workplace training skills and practices. You will also receive advise on employment agreements and work ethics. Student interns will receive guidance on academic project development.

- Visa support and assistance

- Organization of travel and medical insurance

Course Length: 2 weeks orientation followed by 12 weeks paid work placement

Entry Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or over
- Intermediate level of written and spoken English (equivalent t0 5.5 IELTS). Failure to declare accurate English level during applicatioin may result in a deferred internship start date and additional English lessons to meet the required level at the student's expense.
