UK Study & Work Experience Program has been specially designed for non-native-English-speaking students wishing to improve their English language skills while at the same time gaining practical experience in the UK Hospitality Industry. IELTS Level 5 required to start this program. The all-inclussive 22 week program includes:
= Total program duration: 22 weeks
= 10 weeks English Language Course (7 weeks + 3 weeks) at the British Council school Brighton/Hove
=Cambridge Work Experience Certificate examination preparation
= Cambridge Certificate (UCLES) fee
= 10 weeks half-board in shared homestay accommodation Brighton/Hove
= Hotel Placement Fee
= Staff Accommodation during hotel work experience.
= Monitoring and supervision during the program.
Citizens of the EU and Switzerland do not require a Visa or Work Permit to take up salaried employment in the United Kingdom. (EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom).
Non-EU citizens require a STUDENT VISA to enter and work in the United Kingdom, granted by your nearest British Embassy. Our “UK Study & Work Experience” program offers paid hotel experience and leads to the Cambridge Certificate in Work Experience or the Advanced Certificate in Work Experience. As this is a recognised training program, it is the best and quickest way to apply for and be granted a Student Visa.
Minimum age: 18+ years
Courses starts: 1st and 3rd Monday of each month (every Monday during May-July). Available through the year.
Course duration: 22 weeks (7 weeks Introduction and General English Course, followed by 12 weeks paid Work Experience, followed by 3 weeks completion and preparation of the documentation for the Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate (UCLES) examination for award of the Certificate in Work Experience or the Advanced Certificate in Work Experience. This format is known as a “sandwich course” and is recognised for Visa purposes and thus ideal for non-EU students. Students usually continue working and earning until the expiration of their 6 month visa. Even then, it may be possible to obtain an extension.
English Level: Intermediate level. In order to start a hotel placement, participants must have the required Level 5 IELTS on speaking skills at the completion of the study part of the program.
Certification: Certificate in Work Experience or Advanced Certificate in Work Experience accredited by the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate (UCLES).
The Study & Work Experience program enables students to both study and participate in the practical training completely legally in the United Kingdom while enjoying the same salary, benefits and other working conditions as any other worker in the UK doing the same job.
